Training Curriculum

Fire Rescue, LLC

The Girls Future Firefighter Camp uses

the Fire Rescue ViR (TM) Simulator

FIRE RESCUE VR (TM) Simulator is an innovative, cutting- edge hardware and software system that immerses firefighters in low- risk, REAL WORLD situations and scenarios through the use of dynamic 360 degree Virtual-Reality!

CPR/AED/First Aid

CPR and First Aid will be taught by

 a certified CPR Instructor.

Participants will learn life-saving skills and receive certification upon completion of the course. Additionally, basic first aid training will cover topics such as wound care of minor burns, cuts and injuries.

Physical Fitness Training

Campers participate in physical fitness training that includes calisthenics, cardio, strength training and endurance as preparation for “A Day in the Life of A Firefighter”. Our young women also learn how to use their lower body strength to complete the physical tasks required of  emergency services personnel, to pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and while on the job.

Fire Apparatus Familiarization

Campers are familiarized with all of the necessary tools and equipment on an engine, ladder, and rescue truck. Participants are introduced to the basic components of a fire engine, safety-driving skills, operation of warning lights and siren, and emergency response in the apparatus.

Telecommunication/Dispatch Training

It all begins with the initial 911 call. Campers learn how to stay calm, get the facts, and dispatch necessary services with assurance and efficiency.

Personal Protective Equipment and Breathing Apparatus introduction

GFFC participants are introduced to donning and doffing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Scott tanks and masks.

Firehouse Meals with Interruptions from Emergency Dispatch

A firehouse meal is planned out at the beginning of the day. While cooking the meal, campers receive emergency calls that will halt their meal plans and require them to jump into action!
